Samina is a master hair colorist and master stylist practicing in Raleigh, North Carolina. Twenty-six years of color and cutting, informed by a parallel life as a fine art painter - and a small, loyal clientele that has followed her work for decades.
Hair, as Samina practices it, is architecture. Color is light. Twenty-six years in, the two disciplines have collapsed into a single way of seeing - the painter informs the stylist, the stylist sharpens the painter. She trained first in fine art; the salon chair became a second studio.
The atelier is private and unhurried. New clients are welcomed by introduction.
Samina's reputation in Raleigh has been built quietly, one head of hair at a time, over a quarter of a century. Some clients have been with her since 2000. Others arrive from across the Triangle for a consultation and stay for ten years. The work speaks for itself - but it speaks slowly, the way good work does.
